Depending on wind direction, this opening hole will play either
as an easy lead into the front nine or as one of the most demanding
holes on the course. Typically, the wind is at your back. Longer
hitters will easily carry the fairway bunker on the right hand
side, setting up a mid to short iron approach to a well-guarded
green. Into the wind, it will take a big tee shot and a long iron
or fairway wood to have any chance at birdie. Consider taking one
extra club on the second shot as the front of this green is
protected on both sides by sand and water.
